Thank you, love secret submitter! I didn't want to post in the simsecret post since it's so late now (and I wasn't gonna enter Wank Hell over there, ohhhhh boy) but I did see it and it made me so happy! And thanks also to some sweetie anons in there, you guys are great too! ;O;

Onto business! I don't know when the next legacy update is gonna happen; I've either been sick, busy, or getting my shit together for grad school. Which I'm actually not sure if I've really talked about that yet: I'm going back to school full-time to get my Master of Nursing degree and RN license!! This is something I've been working towards for a long, long time and to finally start this next part of my life is just... I'm just relieved and terrified and excited all at the same time. THIS IS HAPPENING Y'ALL.

This also means that my already glacial posting speed is probably gonna nosedive further. I've been trying to think of other entertaining sims stuff I can do that won't take up as much of my time but I'm not sure what that would be. I keep coming back to tumblr: is that an okay format for TS2 legacy commentary shitposting? And will I ever even learn how to actually post there? I've read multiple tutorials and things like how reblogging or queues or replying or dashboards work still confound me. If you are tumblr-literate and don't mind me bugging you about questions then please let me know!

Hay y'allz. So I'm preparing to uninstall Radiance and try Spookymuffin's lighting again, but before I take the plunge, I wanted to share my slightly-edited Radiance lighting in case anyone else wanted something a little brighter than the original. A low-effort post is perfect for a mod with an awful low-effort punny name, so this is gonna be short and sweet!

Details and download under the cut!Collapse )

I'll be getting a new update up in about ten minutes, but before that I wanted to ask: whatcha using for your lighting? Because I'm growing tired of Radiance but I'm not entirely sure I want to jump ship yet. I really miss the nice, bright Spookymuffin lighting though... 8(

I got an email this morning that Imgur is doing away with its paid Pro subscription service and transferring those features over to free accounts! I've used Pro for over four years now (really the only way I could use Imgur, considering I have like 9000 pictures uploaded by now) and I love it, and now it's even better because it's FREE! If you wanna read more about this, check out Imgur's blog post here!

The hard drive in my six-year-old geezer computer has officially mutinied and I'm not happy about it. >:( It's refusing to boot up my OS and while I'm suspecting physical damage, I'm hoping it's because of something that's way more salvageable.... Of course, last night I thought to myself, "gee, maybe I should do a fresh backup. NAH I'MMA GO TO BED, I HAVE PLENTY OF TIME!!"

So the bad news is that the Pomerantz neighborhood and all their pictures might be vaporized, and I have no idea when I'll get my computer into working order. The good news is that I have a new update pretty much done so I can get that up soon. And I have a phone that can handle internet now, so at least I can still post!

Moral of the story? DON'T BE ME, BACK UP YO SHIT

I didn't want to spam a million similar replies so I'll stick the update here: IT'S ALIVE! And the solution was incredibly stupid: apparently the first thing that the HP Pavilion gives power to on start-up is the little card readers... not the hard drive or CD drive or anything useful like that. So if these card readers hiccup and decide not to work, the power stops there and this brickwalls your entire boot sequence. DUMB! My dad recalled reading a post about this four years ago when he was trying to fix his own Pavilion so he axed the readers and voila, it worked. Old grandpa computer is a little touchy right now but all the data is safe and sound and newly backed-up. (if you're still putting off your latest back-up... seriously, go do it)

If anything good came out of this, it's that the new computer build list I've been waffling over creating for over a year now came together SUPER FAST. Thanks for the kick in the butt, HP!
